Community perceptions”

-Men are considered as the head of the family, in charge of running the family and decision makers in every situations.

– women are only meant to take care of children and do house work like cooking.

“My main objective for the drama was to change community perceptions and advocate for gender equality for all.

MY ICS JOURNEY UPDATE . Episode 4 ::: Induction day Training::

So after the selection day activities and Interviews, I went back home and I was there but eagerly waiting for their call.

I was lucky enough that on Friday of the following week I was called back and I was being invited for an induction.

Just know it was really fun with so much eats… Yes I love eating and we had to spend the night.

We continued the next day with basic training on cross cultural working, code of conduct guidelines and safe guarding and lastly we were handed over important documents that had to be filled before returning for the pre- placement training for a week.

Well, to know more about what happened next catch me tomorrow. And please don’t forget to inspire and motivate others around young.

Bonus post- Dress code update, :::Part One ::: (Interview outfits)

When we talk about dress codes sometimes people only think about fashion and design but it is a very important aspect of our day today life.

For instance, the right outfit can even help you secure a job and the wrong one can make you missed out on an opportunity .like they always say ” First impression is always the best”..And secondly, dress codes do send a lot of messages to different people. It depends on how you portray it or represent yourself.

It can represent a culture or something you are fighting for like Gender Based Violence or just for fun.

So going forward, I decided that I will mainly wear black and white clothes collection.

It is not because I have lots of clothes that are black n white which I do have but it’s also because it means something to me.

A mixture of black and white portrays that we are the same, we can all learn from each other, help one another, sleep in the same homes and share same host parents as well as eat the same meals.

So basically my collection of black and white shows the aspect of equality with no discrimination…

But the original idea was smartness and having fun with something comfy and decent while advocating for change and educating the peers.

So on the selection day, I wore a black dress with a white top inside and a black n white coat.

I think I forgot to take pictures that day but I was decent enough.

Tips:: Always wear something that makes you look presentable and decent when going for any kind of interviews.

Thank you so much for reading please come back for more and don’t forget to spread the word of change because together we can change the lives of many youths.

My ICS JOURNEY Episode 3. :::The Selection Day :::

Thanks for joining me again in this rollacoster ride, so before the selection day I got a call like two days earlier that I was being invited for interviews.

I was very excited and nervous at the same time coz I didn’t Know what to expect.

But then I decided that I will just stick to my motivations and skills and convinced the recruiting team that I was perfect for the job.

So coming from a far place which was like a 7- 9 hours drive by bus to the interview venue, I decided to travel one day ahead of the interview day and slept in town near the interview venue and the next day very early in the morning I left for the interview knowing that it will take the whole day.

So our interviews consisted of two parts, the group and the one on ones. I was surprised coz the group Interviews wasn’t what I was expecting. It was so much fun and there was a lot of team bonding.

The one on ones weren’t difficult as well. You just have to have good motivations and strong passion to change the lives of the youths.

So what are you waiting for , become an agent for change now and let’s work together towards changing the lives of many young.

Thanks for reading and please don’t forget to come back for more.
